August 2010

Lots of fun with friends in August…

We went to on a Pirate Ship adventure in downtown Baltimore. It was lots of fun, and we hope to do it again this summer.

This photo of Nathan from August makes me think of my Dad. We were on the little playground near our house.

I had to get this picture since I knew we’d be moving soon and it’s Nathan’s first house!

And I was finally able to get Nathan to let me take pictures of him in his “Big Bro to be” shirt. Yay!

For some reason he insisted on holding up this (totally awesome) book that Uncle Ethan gave him.

We also took some of the first belly pictures of this pregnancy. I was 26 weeks.

Goodbye Tree

We had a huge old Oak Tree in our backyard that we just got removed. I wish we could have kept it but there were large branches falling down all the time and it was obvious parts of it were dead. Now that it’s gone our yard will get more sun, so hopefully that will mean a drier yard too.

Before.
Bottom half anyway…

During.
Gary was home while they were taking it down and said it was really neat, especially because they couldn’t get equipment into our yard because of the fence, so they did it all by hand.

After.
Our yard was a mess! They had to come back the next day to remove the wood you see here.

They’re coming back once the yard dries out a little to grind the stump, so we took pictures of Nathan on it to give some perspective. I’m really glad we took the tree down because it looks like the core was rotted.

New Pictures Added

There are some new pictures added on the Albums page. We have new pictures of the nursery with the dresser, glider and new carpet, new belly pictures of Danielle, and a couple of belated pictures from Ethan’s visit in February.

Nursery Update

The painting is finally finished! And not a moment too soon. Not to say that I didn’t enjoy coming home each night after work and painting, it’s just that I can think of about 1,000 things I would rather be doing. We also bought and installed some shades for the windows and put together the crib that we got from my sister. Up to date photos of the nursery are in the album.

Starting the Nursery

Well a couple of weeks ago we started on the nursery. We have decided on a nice blue, not too light and not too dark for three walls and then yellow on the fourth. We think it will really match the colors on the bedding we have picked. There is a new photo gallery up showing the progress we’ve made to date.

Nursery Before

More pictures will follow this week as we should be getting the painting finished.
