Hannah is 3 Months Old! (Feb2011)

Hannah didn’t have a regular pediatric appointment for her third month, but we ended up at the doctor for a sick visit on the day she turned 3 months…she was 12 lbs 10 oz.

She had taken a bath right before this pictures, so her hair is very fuzzy :-)

This is the first time Hannah noticed there was something next to her.

Hannah is 2 Months Old! (Jan2011)

At two months, Hannah is still a laid back baby and sleeps pretty well. She doesnt mind being on her tummy for short periods, especially if it’s on the mini-boppy pillow. The big “excitement” is that at her last pediatrician appointment the doctor her a heart murmur, so we had an Echocardiogram done to make sure everything is okay. Thankfully it is! She has a small hole, which is common and does not seem to be of any concern, and also something called Mild Pulmonary Valve Stenosis, which means the valve from the right ventricle into the pulmonary artery is obstructed or thickened. It’s something we’ll get checked annually, but both Cardiologists we met with assured us that it will not impact anything that Hannah wants to do as she grows up, and it’s possible it will get better or even go away. The biggest indication that she’s just fine is that she’s eating well and gaining weight well, and is overall a very content and happy little baby.

At her two month appointment, Hannah was 11 lbs 6 oz and 22 3/4 inches in length.

Here are her two month photos.

Hannah is One Month Old! (Dec2010)

Not much to report on Hannah other than at one month she was sleeping well and seemed to be a pretty content and “easy” baby. Oh, and she has crazy hair and a lot of it!

At her one month appointment, Hannah was 9 lbs 13.4 oz and 21 1/2 inches in length.

Zoo Boo 2010

We’ve gone to the Maryland Zoo’s Zoo Boo event every year since Nathan was born. They set up booths with food and games and some local sponsors and then the kids can trick-or-treat at each place, and then you get to enjoy a day at the zoo in costume! Some years we’ve gone with friends but this year it was just us.

Check out Nathan at Zoo Boo over the years…

After trick-or-treating and watching part of a puppet show, we headed down to the zoo. It’s a little bit of a walk from the entrance to the zoo itself, but we opted not to take the tram, so Nathan got a ride.

We opted to skip the main part of the zoo this time and stayed in the Maryland Wilderness and petting zoo areas. Lots of stuff to climb on, and in, and Nathan always loves the goats.

Pumpkin Poses

We’ve gone to Webers Farm every Fall since Nathan was born and I always try to get pictures of him with their pumpkins. For some reason I don’t have any from 2009, but I know we went!

I just love seeing comparisons like this…

October 2008 (18 months old)

How far we’ve come…

I haven’t taken one of those comparison photos since Nathan turned 1 but I figured he was due on his second birthday. Boy how he’s grown!! He left that baby stage waaaaay behind at some point in the last year, that’s for sure.

New Stats

We had Nathans 18 month appointment recently. He’s still sticking right around the 50th percentile for height and weight- 27 lbs 12 oz and 31 3/4 inches. He’s grown quite a bit since his 15 month appointment when he was 24 lbs and 30 inches!

A charming smile for the camera.

Eating chocolate pudding. Just before this he’d tried to lick the inside of the cup…and you can see where that got him.

Um, yeah. I’m going to go cry in the other room now.
I’m not sad, just wistful and sentimental.

This Kid

When did he get so big? So independent? I watched him eat dinner on his own last night when we went out to eat. His highchair was pulled up close to the table and it looked like he was sitting with us, like really sitting with us, not just next to us in the highchair. He watched things going on around him and ate his food, like a kid, not a baby. And this kid, my kid, who would not eat any finger-food fruits or vegetables for months and months, dug into a big hunk of cantaloupe. He even chose it over a chicken finger as he contemplated what to pick up next. It was a seemingly normal moment, but I watched him for a few minutes in amazement. When did this all happen? I’ve seen it in bits and pieces, like when we realized he loved watermelon on our trip to Ithaca, or watched him suck down blueberries or enjoy a meal out with us in Ocean City, but somehow it really hit me last night. Maybe it’s that he just started in the Toddler room at daycare and now he’s napping on a cot, and eating at a little table with little chairs. Or maybe it’s that he’s so active and opinionated and understands so much of what we say now. It amazes me a little more every day.

Here’s Nathan sleeping on the beach during our trip to Ocean City last July. He was around three months old. I really wanted him to get to feel the sand on his feet, but he just wanted to nap.

And here he is this past weekend, just a couple days shy of 14 months. This time he enjoyed playing with the sand, and loved watching the birds and airplanes flying by.

Im such a sap for these comparisons.
